The book of Revelation is arguably the most popular and most misunderstood book in the Bible. Revelation, which means apocalypse, does reveal some things about the end of time and about what’s going on “behind the scenes” at the present time, but Revelation wasn’t written to help us predict world history or to engage in spiritual warfare. Revelation is a letter that was written to encourage Christians who were facing heavy persecution. Revelation was given by Jesus to the people of God so that might hold to the good news that He who lived and died and lives again will return to make all things new, even us. This Sunday we will learn from Revelation 2 & 3. In a sermon titled The 7 Churches – JD will guide us on a survey of the 7 real churches outlined in these chapters.
