The book of Psalms was the hymnbook of ancient Israel and the early Church. These songs have been used in worshipping God for centuries. These are words that Jesus himself would have sung and prayed. But in addition to being a guide for gathered worship, the Psalms are are source for real conversations with God. The Psalms help celebrate and lament, seek and question, rejoice and rest. In other words, the Psalms help us worship in all of life and in every season of life.
