church-demo-aboutusAt Kelsey Creek Church, we have a simple hope: to see people come to know Jesus Christ and grow in their Christian faith. For 10 years, we've been helping spread God's good news here in our hometown and throughout the world, and we pray that God will continue to use our congregation. Whether you've been attending church for years or haven't stepped into a sanctuary in decades, we hope you'll come and join us Sunday if you're looking for a church in our hometown.

When you come to join us for the first time, one of our greeters will be glad to help you become comfortable. If you'd like, they'll help you find the nursery (which is fully staffed and safely run), restrooms, sanctuary and, of course, coffee after the service.

During the service, you'll hear our faith expressed in the songs we sing, prayers we offer up and our pastor's preaching. All parts of our service are grounded in the Bible, which we are committed to upholding. At Kelsey Creek Church, we agree with the Apostle's Creed and Nicene Creed, which we may read during the service. The Apostle's and Nicene Creeds are two of the most ancient Christian creeds, and you'll find they are upheld by almost all churches today.

After the service, join us for a cup of coffee and give us a chance to get to know each other. Say hello to our pastor and anyone else you see. We'd all love to hear your story and share ours with you.

No matter what your Christian background is (or isn't), we hope you'll join us on Sunday. Here at Kelsey Creek Church, you'll find people of all sizes, stripes and colors, and we welcome everyone--including you. Our services start at 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. every Sunday.

Easter 2025

Easter Design (1600 x 1200 px) -2025

Please join us for the Easter events listed below:

Palm Sunday April 13 @ 10:00am: Palm Sunday, which marks the beginning of Holy Week and the coming of Easter, commemorates Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem in preparation for what he would do for the world. In the same way that Jesus was greeted by crowds waving palm branches, we will enjoy celebratory music as KCC’s kids lead us in waving palm branches. We will also discuss one of the most puzzling and powerful passages in the Bible.

Good Friday April 18 @ 7:00pm: Good Friday commemorates the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ. Good Friday is by design a sobering day that invites us to wrestle with the weight of our sin and the depths of God’s love so that we might celebrate joy of God’s forgiveness and the hope of God’s promises on Easter Sunday. We celebrate a Tenebrae (Latin for “shadows”) service on Good Friday, which is filled with songs about Jesus’ suffering, scripture readings from Jesus’ final week on earth, the lighting and extinguishing of candles, and communion which combine help us reflect on Christ’s suffering for us and the world.

Easter Sunday April 20 @ 10:00am: Easter Sunday marks the celebration of Jesus’s resurrection from the dead, which symbolizes and secures victory over death and the promise of eternal life. Easter at KCC is always a celebratory day that is filled with vibrant music, encouragement from scripture, and reassurance that God is for us, not against us. Jesus, who lived and died and lives again, is able to reconcile us to God and to each other in this life and in the next. Following worship at 10am, we will have coffee and tea for adults, an Easter egg hunt for kids, and a Donut Wall for all.

Easter Egg Hunt April 20 @ 11:30 am: Calling all kids! Have fun hunting for Easter Eggs after the worship service. There will be separate egg hunts for older kids and younger ones. Enjoy donuts to snack on as well!

Reading Plan

Reading Banner

The book of Psalms was the hymnbook of ancient Israel and the early Church. These songs have been used in worshipping God for centuries. These are words that Jesus himself would have sung and prayed. But in addition to being a guide for gathered worship, the Psalms are a resource for real conversations with God. The Psalms help celebrate and lament, seek and question, rejoice and rest. In other words, the Psalms help us worship in all of life and in every season of life.

In addition to teaching this summer of handful of Psalms, we invite you to spend time some time in the book of Psalms on your own via the reading plan below. You are welcome to read and reflect on these passages in the way that best helps you connect with Christ; however, we invite you consider meditating on these passages by using an ancient practice called Lectio Divina. In this slow way of reading scripture, you will move the following four movements:

Read: Read the scripture passage slowly. Notice which words or phrases catch your attention.
Meditate: Read the passage again, focusing on the parts that stood out in your first reading. Consider what God might be trying to show or tell you.
Pray: Read the passage a third time. Tell God the thoughts or questions the passage has sparked in you and invite God to speak.
Contemplate: Sit quietly in God’s presence and rest in God’s deep love for you.

Christmas 2023

Kelsey Creek Christmas (1600 x 900 px) - Final Master

Please join us for the Christmas events listed below:

Advent Grief Support Group Holidays can be hard for many of us.  We offer confidential and practical help of a grief support group on Nov 29, Dec 6, and Dec 13 at 7 pm.  Meets in the Kelsey Creek Church Fellowship Hall.   No sign up necessary, just come as you are.

Ladies Christmas High Tea Start your Christmas season with tea!   Women of all ages are invited to enjoy a time of tea, treats, songs, and a great message from Dr. Sara Boyd.  Sign up at the Welcome Center or by emailing office@kelseycreek.church

Potluck! Christmas Brunch Please bring a brunch item to share at our December Potluck. Think breakfast strata, quiche, baked goods, fruit or green salad or your family favorite. Fridge and oven space (for gentle warming) will be available. Deliver your food to the kitchen prior to the service and be sure to fill out an info card for your item. Please do not plan on doing food prep at church. We ask that your dish is ready-to-go. Due to the timing of the meal and the space in the kitchen, we ask that you drop off your item to share and leave the rest to us – we will take care of setting up the Potluck line.

The Longest Night Service The Holidays can be a difficult time, especially if you are experiencing grief and loss. Grief can wear many faces – the loss of a loved one, loss of a marriage, loss of health, etc. The Holidays often accentuate grief as well as the memories of loss. We will have a Longest Night Service – a service of grief, lament and hope on Dec. 20 at 7:00pm.

Christmas Eve Service Start your Christmas celebrations with singing favorite Christmas carols, lighting of Christmas candles, and a glimpse at the good news of the Christmas story.
